ANATOMY OF THE HUMAN BODY

Before starting with the ways of treatment and pressure to be exerted on pressure points, it is desirable to have the knowledge of structure of body, its working and various mechanism.

Human body is the nature’s highest evolution it is a machine unmatched in its design, unparalleled in the integrity of its functional systems and unfathomable in the depth of subtle and natural emotions.

Human body keeps working day and night for 70-80 years. The man has so far not devised such and for such a length time. It has its own devices to make and break and healing phenomenon.

Every organism in this universe is composed of cells. These cells form tissues, organs and systems of organs and systems of organs. In human body, there are numerous organs, each one has a complex structure and carries out a definite functions for instance, bones, muscles, stomach, heart , brain, spinal cord etc. All organs are nourished with blood vessels and supplied with nerves. The organs participating in similar functions unite to form system of organs namely skeleton system, digestive system, nervous system, respiratory system, urogential system, cardiovascular system etc. All the delicate internal organs are well protected by bony cage and muscle the provides a definite shape to the body.

While the spine is described as the hollow bony structures containing nerves which run to all parts of the body, the digestive system is composed of a tube, the alimentary canal and a number of accessory organs.

Digestion is the process by which certain organs act on ingested food both mechanically and chemically so that it can be absorbed and there by provide nutrition for the body.

The main Salivary glands are located just outside the mouth cavity. The saliva produced by these glands is about 98% water and rest being made up of inorganic salt and enzymes.
The one important engymes is ptylin which begins to digest the starch within the food by breaking them down into more simple forms of carbohydrate and sugar.
The Liver
The Gall Bladder
The pancreas

when we think of respiratory system we concern ourself with the exchange of oxygen and carbondioxide- a life Sustaining process termed”breathing”. The mechanics of breathing is not so simple operation as it seems. Man and all higher animals are equipped with a special apparatus for breathing and supply of oxygen to various tissues. There are three actions involved in the process of respiration namely- inspiration, expiration and a pause in between the two actions.

The respiratory system is associated with the nose, the throat region (the pharynx and the larynx), the wind pipe(trachea), th ebronchii, the sinuses, the lungs and the diaphragm.

CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM

It is the important fluid in our body and weighs about 1/13 of the total body weight and carries nutrition, and oxygen to all the cells and tissues of the body. It is estimated that the heart keeps about 5% of all fo the blood it pumps. This blood is fed into the heart muscle fibres by the coronary arteries which surrounds the outside o f the heart. When a certain type of cholesterol Is build up in one of these main arteries, it stop the flow of blood to the heart muscles leading to the death of heart muscle tissue heart attack or myocardial infarction.
The bear of the heart makes the blood to flow through arteries, it is not a steady flow but in waves of pressures and it can be felt by placing the finger over an artery. This is called pulse.
